Programmer PHP for a very acceptable hourly rate of 20 Euro ex. VAT and yet very experienced (15 years of experience with every webshop such as OpenCart, Prestashop, Wordpress, WooCommerce, OsCommerce, Magento etc., also with Odoo)

First of all I would like to explain my low hourly rate of 20 Euro ex. VAT. This work has been my main income for years, now it has become extra income, so I want to make the rate more attractive, an advantage for my regular customers. Moreover, this increases the chances of getting enough work, since my regular customers do not have continuous work. And my work has changed somewhat over the years, there are many ready-made solutions for sale (modules, extensions, etc.) and my work (functional, not design) is customization and adjustments. I have lived abroad for the last 15 years but always paid taxes in the Netherlands, in October 2022 I moved back to the Netherlands. Larger regular customers include Drukkerij van Esch for 15 years (Steunkleuren.nl, OpenCart / Wordpress / WooCommerce) and Onderdelenbalie (onderdelenbalie.nl, partscounter.de etc., OpenCart), in addition many medium / smaller customers like FunkyChef (funky-chef.nl, Prestashop). Also worked for 7 years on the website Macrovet.nl (Magento) but has now switched to Shopware 6, a new type of German webshop software. I was still able to solve every problem (read my extensive experience below). I only work from home, but occasional contact with the customer is no problem. I work for everyone, even smaller assignments are welcome, e.g. solving a stubborn bug. Never a problem not solved! I am a programmer but not a designer, but I do adapt my solutions to the current design, of course I know many design techniques.

In addition to the assignments of, among others, the regular customers above, in recent months (from Oct. 2022) also worked on (if the owner does not give permission for reasons, or the webshop is not yet live, the name of the webshop may not be indicated below):

  • Deplatenkastvangertjan.nl (playlist for streamed online music website)
  • Dukko.nl (Wordpress / WooCommerce, several changes such as style e.g. floating decimal places in all media)
  • Foto4u.nl (OpenCart 3, new webshop with existing template interfaced for orders of horse competition photos)
  • Gokkast24.nl (Wordpress / WooCommerce, among others, age questions for playing games)
  • IJs-garant.nl (Wordpress / WooCommerce, shipping module plugin (wc-weight-based-shipping) converted to shipping table based on distance with Google Api, and a minimum required subtotal within that distance + all shipping modules to let working side by side)
  • Laselins.nl (OpenCart 4, frontpage gets another design, owner uses the admin for the store for now, various changes + custom extension / module for OpenCart 4 to instantly change stocks of products and options in bulk)
  • Messa.nl (OpenCart 3, not live for the time being, new webshop to be built with existing template for sales sound / stage equipment, import process products from suppliers, some design changes)
  • Modeltrein-paradise.be (OsCommerce, several changes + php 7.4 converted to 8.0)
  • M......nl (Wordpress / WooCommerce, won't go live for the time being due to unfinished third-party software, new webshop to be built with self-made plugins and articles with extensive options, orders are broken down into various orders for suppliers or own company, still under development for the time being .. a self-made maintenance program for changing products (via filters and bulk actions) to custom product names, option names, option value names, selected option values, and order ..)

  • Reblo.be (Wordpress, a self-made plugin for an admin program with a menu option, to upload a menu and automatically update various links in the design (and postmeta) where shortcodes have also been used in Elementor)
  • Reizendebisschop.be (Wordpress, goes live early 2026, A custom-built external backend in OpenCart 3 in accordion form (so without a menu, mostly solved with Ajax / jQuery) for the complete handling of travel / traveler administration and insurance for booked trips, with orderlist and invoicing (both in PDF). For a trip, dozens of modules have been built to record all parts of the trip, a.o. flights, hotels, rental cars, etc. Including a program to record the many basic tables (e.g., airports, shipping companies, countries, rental companies, etc., etc.).   • Schoolpapier.nl (Opencart 2, new webshop with an existing template for custom printing for schools, a self-made MyParcel API module to choose a shipping method for orders only from the (backend) admin (reporting shipments & printing labels + webhook to automatically update the shipping status) + API import e-invoices into ExactOnline, also done some design adjustments)
  • Seedo.nl (OpenCart 3, renewed webshop with existing template for selling seeds, multishop in 5 languages for various seeds webshops with 1 admin, with bol.com Api orders, import process products from suppliers, a self-made MyParcel API module to choose a shipping method for orders only from the (backend) admin (reporting shipments & printing labels + webhook to automatically update the shipping status), some design changes)
  • Shop.wema-import.nl (OpenCart, several changes + relocation)
  • Telefoonhouderstore.nl (OpenCart, with bol.com Api orders + letterbox package via Postnl Api)
  • Ultiemoutdoor.nl (Wordpress, custom plugin that creates quotations in Odoo via the Api (with XML-RPC) and automatically calculates the prices from an uploaded Excel sheet in the plugin, from some Gravity Forms quotation forms where the fields are linked via mapping in the plugin, and an overview program in the plugin to recreate quotations in Odoo via the Api if this would have failed for technical reasons)
  • Rouwcentrum-vandamme.be / begrafenissenhermans.be / het-afscheid.be (Wordpress / WooCommerce, a self-made plugin for various changes and crojobs + the automatic retrieval of data from Wordpress databases for an external non-Wordpress website)
  • Vdbtshop.nl (Prestashop, interface with accounting software Silvasoft.nl / Vendit.nl to synchronize stock and prices)
  • Zwemles.in (fit-lab.nl) (Wordpress / WooCommerce, e.g. backup websites in another domain, having sepas processed in a reservation system with Buckaroo Api, with the help of Facebook SDK the receiving of leads automatically in cronjob, platform independent maintenance program for these leads)

Experience

I worked independently for 20 years, as an analyst / programmer at large companies such as KSD Software (NLD), Gemeente Utrecht (NLD), Intres (NLD), Godiva (BEL), Shimano (NLD), Talens (NLD), Hulp der Patronen (BEL), Ciba Geigy (NLD), Mitsubischi (NLD), Prudential (NLD), Edisco (=Abbott International) (NLD), Marcam (DEU), Bleckmann (NLD), Lease Plan (NLD), Amstel Lease (NLD), Rijksbelastingdienst (NLD), Bols International (NLD), Avery (NLD), Johan Enschede & Zonen (NLD), Econosto (NLD), v. d. Brink (NLD), Besouw (NLD), Polaroid (NLD), B.I.S. (LUX), Transvemij (NLD), Koopmans Meelfabrieken (NLD), N.C.B (NLD), L.T.B. (NLD), Colt (NLD), Hoogenbosch (NLD), Philips (NLD) etc. with large ERP packages such as BPCS (occasionally with SAP) etc. on IBM mainframes or smaller systems such as IBM AS/400. Gained experience in various environments such as manufacturing, insurance, accountancy firms, municipal administration, customs, banks, salaries, lease, etc. At one point I wanted to do something different and then ended up in the web world for 15 years, for smaller customers and less earnings, but again with full enthusiasm. I am very creative in solutions and think along with the customers.

So over the last 15 years as a self-employed PHP programmer, I have gained experience with many webshops, made adjustments, but also made many modules (e.g. for iDeal) and interfaces (e.g. for ExactOnline). So I am a programmer webshops, programmer OpenCart, Prestashop, Wordpress, WooCommerce, VirtueMart, OsCommerce and a programmer Magento, but I no longer want to work with Magento (no longer interested, but I have written my own PostNL module for Magento 1 and 2, which is still running with some customers and is also available for free upon request, was previously on Github). In addition, of course, also a programmer PHP, MySql (databases), Javascript, JQuery, Ajax, HTML, Vue.js, XML, API and a programmer SOAP. Had also written a program for all webshops to check whether no code had been changed by hackers, for example, this program is still running at some customers and is also available for free on request (was previously on Github).

My work now:


Programming work with PHP and MySQL (or other database) for webshops such as Opencart, Prestashop, WooCommerce, OsCommerce, VirtueMart (Joomla) or Joomla components, modules or plug-ins (or e.g. RsEvents, Freeway etc.) and Magento, graphical applications with Ajax techniques for printing companies, etc. Other webshops / packages are also a challenge. Basically everything that has to do with internet applications as a PHP programmer. You can safely leave all activities you can think of in programming (or design) for a PHP programmer to me (e.g. new programs such as modules or extensions, changes in programs, with or without Ajax techniques (jQuery), a new shipping module, a new payment module, installing iDeal, linking an accounting package, a new discount module, being found more easily on the internet, import / export link (articles/orders, etc.) with your suppliers (via API, XML, SOAP or CSV), your help set up the webshop by installing the correct contributions / modules / extensions / updates that suit your needs, etc. etc. etc.).


Tip: within a smaller budget, web programs can also be used within a company via internet / intranet, this is much, much cheaper than custom Windows programs for e.g. quick solutions.
